Overview: For 2011, Nissan gave the Sentra standard stability control, traction control and antilock brakes, which make the Sentra very competitive when it comes to safety features. There is also a navigation system interface that costs $400 -- a great price considering that many automakers charge around $2,000.

At 13.1 cubic feet, the Nissan Sentra offers a good amount of trunk space. Check out the Sentra’s “Divide-N-Hide” trunk that creates additional hidden storage. The Sentra also has 60/40 folding rear seats that increase storage space.

Nissan Sentra Performance: The Sentra's 2.0, 2.0 S, 2.0 SR and 2.0 SL trims come equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 140 horsepower. The base Sentra comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, while an automatic CVT (continuously variable transmission) is available on higher trims. Drivers who want a more powerful car should try the SE-R or SE-R Spec V models, which have more power. The SE-R has a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine that produces 177 horse power and has a CVT transmission, while the SE-R Spec V has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horse power and has a six-speed manual transmission.

Nissan Sentra Safety: Standard safety features on all models include six airbags. On higher level trims, vehicle dynamic control and a traction control system are available either as standard or optional features. The Sentra offers a number of safety features: the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front airbags, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side-impact airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and Vehicle Dynamic Control, which helps keep your vehicle stable during emergency maneuvers.
